Driver's License & Age

Operators must be aged 21–65 years old, with a valid Malaysian or international driving licence showing at least two years of driving experience.

Malaysian 'P' licences are not accepted.

Rates

All charges are quoted in Ringgit Malaysia (MYR). Daily rental rates cover a full 24 hours with unlimited mileage.

Extra hours beyond a full day are charged at one-fifth of the daily rate per hour, for up to four hours. Five extra hours or more is charged as one additional full day.

Add-ons and insurance follow the same hours as the rental: up to four extra hours are free, and five extra hours or more counts as one additional day.

All rates shown on this website include 6% SST, and add-on and insurance prices are SST-inclusive too. The price you see when searching is the price you pay — nothing is added at checkout. Rates booked through travel agents and online travel partners are quoted by that partner and taxed under their own arrangements.

Minimum Rental Period

A minimum rental period of 1 day applies to all bookings.

Restricted Travel Areas & Road Usage

Rental vehicles may not enter Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, or bridgeless islands including Langkawi.

Off-road, unsealed, or unmade roads or surfaces are strictly prohibited. Violations may incur penalties and additional charges.

Insurance

Rates include unlimited liability insurance coverage for third-party bodily injuries and passenger risk, and third-party property damage up to MYR 100,000.

CDW & Extra CDW Protection

Standard CDW is included in every rental. The non-waiverable excess below is what you would pay towards repairs; Extra CDW Protection lowers it for a daily fee. Zero Excess is not available. Claims require a police report to be filed within 24 hours of the incident.

Missing items, car accessories, scratches, and dents are not covered under CDW. Any damage arising from alcohol-impaired driving is the full responsibility of the renter, regardless of CDW coverage.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Available upon request. PAI provides coverage of up to MYR 10,000 for death and total permanent disability.

Medical coverage: MYR 1,000 per driver and MYR 500 per passenger.

Payment

We accept all major credit cards — Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Security Deposit

A security deposit may be collected when the vehicle is handed over. The amount depends on the vehicle and is confirmed by the branch at collection — it is not charged as part of your online booking.

Parking Fees & Traffic Fines

Renters are responsible for all parking fees and traffic fines incurred during the rental period.

An additional MYR 50 administration fee applies to any traffic fine processed on the renter's behalf.

Petrol

The rental vehicle is provided with a full tank of unleaded petrol and must be returned with a full tank. Refuelling charges apply if the vehicle is returned with less fuel.

Extension of Rental

The hirer must inform Suria Car Rental immediately of any rental extension, in order to maintain insurance coverage. Failure to do so means the hirer is driving without insurance for the extended period.

One-Way Rental Fees

One-way rentals are available between pick-up points served by the same branch — for example KLIA T1 to Subang Airport, or Senai Airport to JB Sri Tebrau. The fee depends on the route and is shown before you pay.

Cross-state one-way rentals are not offered. A car collected in Penang must be returned in Penang, and the same applies to Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu.

Delivery and collection away from a branch counter carry their own surcharge, also shown before you pay.

Out-of-Office-Hours Charges

Office hours differ by branch, so the surcharge starts at a different time in each. It applies to collection and to return, and is charged per end.

Baby Chair / Booster Seat

A baby chair can be arranged for RM 22 per day.

Repair

Any repair costs incurred during the rental period will only be refunded upon presentation of the supplier's original receipt and the damaged parts. Any repair exceeding MYR 100 requires prior approval from Suria Car Rental.

Breakdown Service

Suria Car Rental has appointed the Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM) to provide 24-hour breakdown service.

Collecting Your Rental Car

• A valid credit card in the renter's own name, with sufficient available funds, is required at pickup.
• A valid driving licence, travel documents, and passport are required (copies will be taken).
• A waiting charge applies after 2 hours past the scheduled collection time.
• If we are not informed of a delay, the booking will be treated as a No Show after 2 hours from the original collection time.

Cancellation Policy

You can cancel online at Manage My Booking using your booking reference and the email you booked with — a one-time code is sent to that address, and the fee that applies to your booking is shown before you confirm.

Online cancellation is available for paid bookings that have not yet ended. Otherwise, or if you would rather we did it, email booking@suriacarrental.com.my or WhatsApp us at +6013-263 8000.

"1 day" for cancellation-window purposes means 24 hours from your scheduled rental start time.

• 14+ days before pickup: full refund (minus minor bank processing fees)
• 3–14 days before pickup: MYR 108 cancellation fee
• Less than 3 days before pickup: MYR 158 cancellation fee
• No refunds are given for no-shows, unused rental days, or early returns
