One-Way Car Rental in Malaysia — How It Works with Suria

one way car rentalMalaysia road tripKLIA to KL Sentralairport drop off

A one-way rental means collecting the car at one pick-up point and returning it at another — most often landing at the airport and dropping the car in the city, so you are not driving back out to the airport on your last morning.

Where One-Way Is Available

One-way runs between the pick-up points served by the same branch. Collect at KLIA T1 and return at KL Sentral, or collect at Penang Airport and return at Queensbay Mall. The fee depends on the route and is shown before you pay.

Cross-state one-way is not available. A car collected in Penang is returned in Penang, and the same applies to Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru and Kota Kinabalu. We would rather say so here than have you find out at checkout.

Every route above also works in reverse. Fees are fixed and shown before payment.

What It Is Good For

Landing and staying in the city. Collect at KLIA T1 or T2, spend the week in Kuala Lumpur, and drop the car at KL Sentral before your train or flight out.

Flying in and out of different airports in the Klang Valley. KLIA to Subang is a common pairing for domestic connections.

Not wanting to return to the airport at all. In Penang and Johor Bahru you can drop at a mall or a bus terminal instead.

Tips for One-Way Rentals

  1. Choose your drop-off point when booking — the fee is calculated from the pair, and changing the return point afterwards needs to go through us
  2. Check the fee before you pay — it is itemised in the price breakdown, never added later
  3. Delivery and collection are separate — see the table below; they are charged by location, not by route

Delivery and Collection

Rather than meeting us at a counter, you can have the car delivered to you — or collected from you — within 10km of the branch. This is charged per location, not per route, and is shown in your price breakdown before you pay.

BranchServiceFee
Johor Bahru Dropoff 10KM within JB CIQ RM 80
Johor Bahru Pickup 10KM within JB CIQ RM 80
Kota Kinabalu Dropoff within 10KM from KK Airport RM 65
Kota Kinabalu Pickup within 10KM from KK Airport RM 65
Kuala Lumpur Dropoff 10KM within KLIA RM 80
Kuala Lumpur Pickup 10KM within KLIA RM 80
Penang Dropoff 10KM within Pen Airport RM 65
Penang Pickup 10KM within Pen Airport RM 65

Driving Between States

You are free to drive anywhere in Malaysia — take the car from KL to Penang and back if you like. What is not available is leaving it at another state's branch. Plan a return leg, or fly and rent again at the other end.

Cross-Border Rental

Suria does not offer cross-border rentals to Singapore, Thailand, or Indonesia. Our cars are for use within Malaysia only.

Planning a trip? Check availability — pick your collection and return points and the one-way fee, if any, is shown before you pay.
